POLICE have obtained 17 reports against the Joint Management Body (JMB) of low-cost flats in a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, relating to excellent electrical energy bills totalling RM2 million.
Residents of the low-cost flats at Bandar Tasik Selatan 1 filed the reports, in accordance with Ramli Yoosuf, as reported by Berita Harian.
The preliminary grievance was made by a 35-year-old resident who found electrical energy disconnection notices from Tenaga Nasional Berhad for all 5 blocks, indicating excellent bills of practically RM2 million.
The grievance alleged that no funds had been made since January 2022, regardless of residents recurrently paying a month-to-month upkeep charge of RM 50 per unit to the JMB. Suspecting misappropriation of funds by the JMB chairman, the resident filed a police report.
Ramli, the director of the business crime investigation division, talked about that the grievance and different residents had beforehand filed a number of complaints with the Kuala Lumpur Commissioner of Buildings since July 2022.
Follow-up motion is at present in progress.
Ramli emphasised that the case falls below the commissioner’s jurisdiction, as it entails offences by the administration physique below the Strata Management Act.
