Police record statement of journalist on Forest City casino issue – eNews Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statement of a journalist from an English-language portal to help investigations relating to the publication of an article alleging talks of a casino licence to revive the Forest City property undertaking in Johor.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain stated the statement was recorded by the Bukit Aman Classified Crime Investigation Unit (USJT) after the media officer who was summoned to look turned up there at 8.30 am right this moment.

Last Friday, Razarudin confirmed that an investigation had been carried out after attorneys of businessman Tan Sri Vincent Tan lodged a report relating to the publication of an article on a global information portal associated to the institution of a casino in Forest City, which allegedly contained false, unfaithful, unsubstantiated and unverified statements.

The portal, which cited sources amongst others, additionally linked the names of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Berjaya Corporation Bhd (Berjaya Corp) and Genting Malaysia Bhd, however all events concerned have denied the report printed by the portal.
