Officers couldn’t engage KLIA shooter fearing public safety – eNews Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 — Selangor police reportedly mentioned immediately they have been unable to engage with the suspect of the capturing at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1 (KLIA) because of public safety issues.

Malaysiakini cited Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan saying officers had feared that there could be extra casualties if a shootout broke out.

Police have since launched the identification and images of the suspect.
