Jalan Batang Kali-Genting Highlands reopens after repairs following landslide that killed 31 in 2022 – eNews Malaysia

BATANG KALI, July 1 — Jalan Batang Kali-Genting Highlands, closed for over a 12 months following the landslide tragedy on December 16, 2022 that killed 31 individuals, was reopened to all highway customers from 3pm at the moment.

State Infrastructure and Agriculture Committee chairman Izham Hashim mentioned the route, beforehand restricted to employees in the Genting space, is now open to the general public following the June 15 completion of slope restore works that price about RM19 million.

“Alhamdulillah, as everybody can see, the four-tiered, 25-metre-high slope has been efficiently repaired. This is the primary time the Terralink Wall system has been used in the Batang Kali space,” he mentioned after officiating the reopening of the highway right here at the moment.

He mentioned slope restore works have been initially scheduled for completion in March however confronted slight delays as a result of unavoidable elements.
