Education Ministry: 113 educational institutions hit by floods, used as temporary evacuation centres, not ready to operate yet

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 3 — None of the 113 educational institutions beneath the Ministry of Education (MoE) that have been affected by floods or used as temporary evacuation centres (PPS) are ready to operate in the intervening time.

The MoE, in an announcement as we speak, mentioned that there have been 18 faculties nonetheless inundated, 87 faculties used as PPS and eight that had recovered from the floods.

“The MoE will proceed to monitor and replace each Wednesday the listing of educational institutions that have been hit by floods or used as PPS.

“Changes to the listing issued by the MoE will likely be topic to the present flood state of affairs,” the assertion added.

The listing could be accessed by way of the MoE web site at https://www.moe.gov.my/.

The MoE added that educational institutions that had been cleaned and ready to resume operations would achieve this on Sunday or Monday of the next college week.

Educational institutions beneath the MoE refer to faculties, vocational schools, matriculation schools and trainer training institutes as nicely as personal faculties registered beneath the MoE.

Schools beneath Group A will start the third time period of the 2021/2022 college session on January 9 whereas these in Group B will begin on January 10. — eNM
