BANGKOK: All Thailand embassies within the Middle East area have been instructed to proceed monitoring the tensions between Israel and Iran.
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry in an announcement Monday stated at present, about 28,000 Thais resided in Israel and roughly 300 in Iran.
The ministry stated the Thai embassies in Tel Aviv and in Tehran are in fixed contact with the Thai communities to replace them on developments within the scenario.
“At this time, there are not any studies of Thai nationals in Israel or Iran being instantly impacted or injured by the present scenario,“ the ministry stated in an announcement.
Iran launched a drone and missiles assault on Israel on Saturday, in retaliation for a strike in Damascus, Syria earlier this month.
The ministry stated that Thailand could be very involved concerning the present unfolding scenario within the Middle East and urged all events to train the utmost restraint to forestall the scenario from deteriorating additional as it will inevitably influence on harmless civilians.
“We will proceed to observe developments closely and can coordinate with the related companies on additional help to Thai nationals within the affected areas,“ it stated.
Thailand’s Foreign Ministry known as on Thai nationals within the area to observe the information and recommendation of the native authorities in addition to the related embassies, and suggested them to contact the embassy in Tel Aviv and Tehran for pressing help.
