NEW DELHI: India and Pakistan on Sunday referred to as for de-escalation in West Asia after Iran hit Israel with drones and missiles in response to the latest Israeli bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
“We are significantly involved on the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran which threatens the peace and safety in the area. We call for quick de-escalation, train of restraint, stepping again from violence and return to the trail of diplomacy,“ India’s Ministry of External Affairs mentioned in an announcement on Sunday.
“We are carefully monitoring the evolving scenario. Our embassies in the area are in shut contact with Indian neighborhood,“ it mentioned.
Pakistan, which had strongly condemned the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria’s capital, mentioned on Sunday it’s watching the continued developments in the Middle East with deep concern.
The newest developments underline “the grave implications in instances the place the UN Security Council is unable to fulfill its tasks of sustaining worldwide peace and safety,“ Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps mentioned it fired dozens of drones and missiles in direction of the positions of “the Zionist regime” in response to numerous Israeli assaults, together with the bombing of the consular part of the Iranian embassy.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations cited Article 51 of the UN Charter for self defence in taking the army motion and criticised the UN Security Council’s “inaction and silence, coupled with its failure to condemn the Israeli regime’s aggressions.”
Iran has warned of a bigger response in case of any additional Israeli attack.
