JOHOR BARU, Oct 17 — The Johor Fire and Rescue Department has efficiently extinguished a fire involving 23 hectares of forest in Pengerang close to Kota (*23*) after three days of operation.

Sebana Cove Pengerang Fire and Rescue station chief Mohd Khairul Sufian Dahari stated nine hectares of the forest space was still ablaze on the Sebana Cove-Punggai bypass.

He stated a complete of 15 firemen and three fire-fighting machines from the Sebana Cove, Punggai and Kota (*23*) fire and rescue stations had been concerned in the operation.
