150,000 Papar residents hit by drought – eNews Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: About 150,000 individuals in Papar, Sabah, have been affected by the continued drought, stated district catastrophe administration committee chairman Fuad Abdullah.

The district was declared a drought catastrophe space on Wednesday following a water provide disaster as a result of sizzling climate for the previous few weeks.

Fuad stated seven 10,000-litre tanker lorries from the state water division are among the many belongings which have been deployed to make sure the residents have clear water.

He stated the Papar fireplace and rescue station has recorded 9 fires within the district since March 9, with the newest being a grass fireplace masking 0.81ha in Pengalat Besar this afternoon.
